Automatically provision onboarding materials for new users
Create and share welcome docs, checklists and resources when a new user appears in the directory, with no manual steps.

The problem
Manual onboarding means people wait for access, miss key documents, or receive outdated copies. When onboarding ramps up, someone forgets a step and the new joiner is blocked or confused.
How it works
- Poll the directory for new users in the relevant OU or group.
- For each new user, copy the onboarding template documents with the Docs API.
- Share the new copies directly with the user using the Drive API.
- Send a summary email with links to the provisioned resources.
What changes
New joiners have their resources waiting in Drive before their first login, and admins no longer chase missing steps.
Questions people ask
How do I avoid duplicate onboarding docs if a user is re-created?
Track provisioned resources by user ID, not email address, and check for existing files before creating new ones.
What if the template changes?
Always copy from the canonical template at run time. Do not cache document IDs or content, or users will get stale material.
