Enforce consistent folder structures across Drive
Automate the creation and policing of standard Drive folder layouts using a delegated service account, reducing drift and manual clean-up.

The problem
Teams create folders ad hoc, resulting in inconsistent structures that make access control and navigation difficult. Manual audits are slow and rarely catch drift until it’s widespread.
How it works
- Define the canonical folder tree and metadata for each type of workspace.
- Use the delegated service account to periodically scan for deviations or missing folders.
- Create missing folders or move misplaced items into their correct location.
- Notify owners where manual intervention is needed (e.g., ambiguous moves).
What changes
Folder structures stay compliant with policy, and new projects or teams start with the right layout automatically.
Questions people ask
What if someone deletes a required folder?
The automation can recreate missing folders, but any files deleted with the folder are unrecoverable unless caught in time by Vault or Trash retention.
Can this handle shared drives as well as My Drive?
Yes, but shared drives have stricter permissions and some operations (like moving folders out) are blocked—handle errors explicitly and log what’s skipped.
Want this built?
This is a pattern we run in production. We will set up the delegation and build this on top of it — $500 per hour, most of it working the same day.
